“Masques by Debussy was dispatched with effortless panache”
Edward Clarke – Musical Opinion
“a veritable encyclopaedia of pianism … Wigan discharged the piece with fluid assurance … confident and efficient“
Hilary Finch – The Times
“Wigan depicted the stinging birdsong of ‘Le Loriot’ from Messiaen’s Catalogue d’Oiseaux with real bite … The haunted atmospheres of selections from Book I of Arlene Sierra’s Birds and Insects (2004-7) were excellently captured in this European premiere, however, with the lonely repetitions of ‘Cicada Sketch’ being particularly effective.”
Andrew Morris – Classical Source
“dedicated performance… Wigan’s account seemed first-class, and was given a thumbs-up by McCabe”
Colin Anderson – Classical Source, on Sally’s performance of McCabe’s Variations
